Half the hot tub problems we see don't need a part replaced. They need a person who knows what they're looking at. Diagnostic visits give you a clear answer and a written quote, with no obligation to proceed.
Symptoms we troubleshoot most often
"It's not heating"
Could be the heater element, thermostat, flow sensor, low water level, dirty filter restricting flow, or a tripped GFCI. The fix ranges from free (clean the filter) to ~$400 (replace a heater assembly).
"There's an error code"
Error codes are usually one of: temperature sensor fault, flow problem, overheat trip, or communication fault between the topside and the control pack. The code tells us where to look. We carry common sensors and topsides on the truck.
"The water is cloudy or smells off"
Almost always a chemistry problem, not a hardware problem. Common culprits: sanitizer too low, pH drifted, biofilm in the plumbing, filter overdue, or the tub is past due for a drain and refill.
"Jets are weak or one stopped working"
Air lock, clogged filter, broken jet insert, diverter valve stuck, or air control closed. We work through it in order.
"It keeps tripping the breaker"
Either a ground fault in the heater, a shorted pump, a wet GFCI, or wiring beyond the tub that needs a licensed electrician. We isolate which.
"It's making a weird noise"
Grinding usually means pump bearings failing. Humming with no flow usually means a stuck impeller or air lock. Vibration usually means the pump is misaligned or the motor is loose.
The diagnostic visit
Flat fee. Up to one hour on-site. You get:
- A specific diagnosis of what's wrong
- A written quote for the repair, including parts and labor
- A short explanation of what caused it (so you can prevent it next time)
- If applicable, the option to do the repair on the same visit
If you proceed with the repair on that same visit, the diagnostic fee is applied to the labor cost. If you don't, you've still paid for a clear answer and a fair quote you can take to anyone else for comparison.
